Have you ever thought about how important consistency is? Often we write off incremental growth in our own lives or even in the lives of those we love because growth is difficult to see when it is based in consistency. Whether we are talking about our spiritual lives and going to church or our physical lives and our diets and exercise or even our finances and savings, consistency is key.
One of the ways that we see this comes in the form of reading our Bibles and praying every day. I know that many of you pray every day, but what about reading your Bible? If you want to grow in the Lord, make this a priority.
Today’s verse of the day in the Bible app was from Psalm 113:3 and it talks about God’s consistency. It is how we learn to trust him. Because he is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Here’s what this verse says: From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.
You might think that this is simply about us praising the name of God through the day. But really, praise begins when we start to acknowledge the consistency of the Lord! The sun coming up and going down is one of God’s great reminders that he is consistent. And what that tells us about him is important. It’s why the Bible can say (with a straight face!) don’t worry. Don’t be afraid. God loves you and if you want to open the door that his consistency has to offer, simply use the key of consistency in your own life. You’ll be amazed at what can happen when you start simply being consistent.
